On February 2, a group of STRIVE Prep - RISE 11th graders competed in the Marshall-Brennan Moot Court Competition at UC Boulder Law School. Scholars presented their case briefs to a panel of judges, practicing attorneys, and current law students. Zail Acosta, after arguing his case in front of three Colorado Supreme Court justices in the final round, won the competition and is heading to Washington D.C. in April for the national competition. The following scholars also won awards for outstanding arguments: Angelo Rojas, Diego Hernandez, Mya Galvan, Gaurab Koirala, and Stephanie Cobarubbias-Ordonez.

DPS SchoolChoice open from Jan. 15 to Feb. 20

The Denver Public Schools’ School Choice window is open from Jan. 15 to Feb. 20, 2019. Any student who wants or needs to attend a new school for the 2019-20 school year may take part in SchoolChoice. Every year, families may submit one application per student, on which they rank their students’ top school preferences for the following school year. DPS then matches students to schools based on those preferences, as well as school admission priorities and available space.
